Jacob is on the autism spectrum, but that’s not his entire character, just as Chloe’s chronic pain wasn’t her only facet in the first book. I loved how their relationship progressed, and as usual, I found myself super excited to see characters deviating from the romance novel norm - aka not a thin, white, blonde heroine who doesn’t know how beautiful she is, falling for the macho douchebag who treats her just a shade better than sh*t. I thought the second one, focusing on middle sister Dani, would be my fave, but now I’m not so sure - Eve and Jacob are just lovely. I’m obsessed with Talia Hibbert’s Brown sisters novels, which are like pure pleasure shots to the brain. But, since I won’t subject your eyes to that, let me just say for the record that this book is a goddamn DELIGHT. Honestly my review for Act Your Age, Eve Brown could just be a video of me aggressively fanning myself on a never-ending loop.
